New Rice Milling Complex Launched in Brunei

On 12 November 2025, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah officiated the commissioning of a new state-owned rice milling complex in Brunei. The facility, constructed by COFCO Engineering Corporation, comprises a paddy drying workshop, a cluster of steel silos, and a modern rice processing plant.
During the ceremony, His Majesty received a briefing on the project’s key features and future development plans, followed by an in-depth tour of the production facilities. The commissioning of this project significantly enhances Brunei’s paddy processing capacity and will play a vital role in improving the country’s self-sufficiency in milled rice—an important milestone in the implementation of Brunei’s national food security strategy.
The successful delivery and startup of the project highlights the Brunei government’s strong commitment to strengthening national food security.
